Introduction of Common carburizer
1. Introduction
Carburizer is a black or gray particle (or block) of high carbon content of coke or petroleum coke follow-up products, in the metal smelting can reduce the oxygen content of iron liquid, improve the mechanical properties of castings. In the new synthetic cast iron smelting process, the amount of scrap steel is greatly increased, the carbon content of iron liquid is adjusted by adding carbonizer , and the production cost is greatly reduced while ensuring the quality of iron liquid.
2. Types of carburizer for cast iron
According to the crystal structure of carbon in carburizer, carburizer can be divided into amorphous state and crystalline state.According to the existence form of carbon atom, it can be divided into graphitization carbonizer and non-graphitization carbonizer.Graphitized carburizing agents mainly include graphitized petroleum coke and graphite electrode.Graphitized petroleum JiaoZeng carbon agent in the most widely used in foundry industry, its production process is the raw material in petroleum coke graphitizing furnace after 2200-2600 ℃ high temperature heating, disorderly layer structure of petroleum coke amorphous carbon crystallization into three-dimensional ordered graphite crystals of high temperature heat treatment process, namely after graphitization process, state of graphitization.Non-graphitization carbonizers mainly include calcined petroleum coke, coal carbonizer, etc. Calcined petroleum coke refers to the petroleum coke after 1200-1500℃ high temperature heating treatment, treatment temperature is low, the crystal structure has not changed.Coal carburizer is seldom used in arc furnace smelting because of its high ash and volatile content. The main indexes to measure the carbon content, sulfur content, volatile content, ash content, nitrogen content and water content are fixed carbon content, sulfur content, volatile content, ash content, nitrogen content and water content. After graphitization, the content of sulfur and nitrogen was much lower than that of non-graphitization.
Compared with non-graphitized carburizer, the fixed carbon content, ash content, volatilization content and absorption rate of graphitized carburizer are not different. The major difference is the content of N and S, while the carbon, nitrogen and sulfur all have a significant impact on the performance of castings. When choosing carbonizer, we should choose the appropriate carbonizer according to the product characteristics.Want to assure product quality already, want to consider production cost again.
